Yoongi grew up in Daegu, his family was pretty poor so parents didn't really support his dream to be a rapper, wanting him to get a stable job intead.
He left his home to go to Seoul at around 17, he auditioned for Big Hit and passed, where he was told he would be a producer, however that obvioustly wasn't the case, as he ended up in BTS later on. He often times complained about having to dance, saying he wishes to be a stone in his next life.
